More than 200 drivers were stranded in their cars in the freezing cold in Kent, one of the worst-hit regions, overnight,mdau hali ndio hii hapa kwetu nimeamka asubuhi nafungua mlango nikaangukiwa na kipande cha snow kichwani,i love snow!!
Lorries and cars were stranded across the county. Kent Police said that any route with an incline was almost impossible to drive on due to snow and ice.
Emergency services were swamped as they battled to deal with hundreds of accidents.
Heavy snow fell across swathes of Britain today, leaving hundreds of drivers stranded and sparking transport chaos.
Up to eight inches has already fallen in many counties, with the south of England the worst affected today, causing chaos on the roads and train lines and forcing airports to cancel flights or close.
The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for the East of England, London and the South East and the East Midlands.
Forecasters warn another eight inches of snow could fall throughout the day with gale-force winds causing drifts, heralding a nightmare journey home for commuters tonight.
Thousands of people in Cumbria were without power for eight hours overnight as temperatures plunged below freezing.
But there was some good news for children - thousands were celebrating Christmas early as hundreds of schools stayed closed for the last day of term.
