We've just about managed to regain our composure after an emotionally charged weekend on The X Factor which saw the final 24 acts whittled down to just 12.
There was high drama and a tidal wave of tears at the judges' 'homes' as the decisions were made and more than a few shocks for viewers
Simon surprisingly went for an all male top three in the over-25s. Following his OTT performances to date, we thought Danyl had already peaked and wouldn't make it through, but Simon clearly wants to take a chance on him. Danyl will divide the audience, though he is likely to give some of the most memorable performances in the live shows.
Jamie is just a little bit too cheesy for our tastes and, of Simon's acts, Olly is definitely our firm favourite to go far in the contest. If he makes the right song choices he could go all the way to the final.
For us the biggest surprise was Cheryl's decision not to put Duane in her final three. After winning the series last year, we can't help but feel that Cheryl has one of the weakest groups with Lloyd, Joseph and Rikki.
There is nothing really to distinguish these boys from the rest of the acts in the competition, while in both Duane and Daniel she could have had an act who would stand out from the crowd.

Lloyd and Joseph's young age could see them both struggling with the pressure of the live shows and we're not convinved that Rikki has the confidence to carry him through to the later stages of the competition. However, Rikki may benefit from the powerful Scottish vote.
And that leaves just Dannii who surely has the strongest group this year? The brilliant Stacey Solomon is our tip at this stage to win the series, however, both Lucie Jones and Rachel Adedeji are strong contenders to go far. 
The twins are joined by Miss Frank (Louis's best act) and Kandy Rain in his top three. We'd be shocked if any of these acts became the first group to triumph in the show. Miss Frank are likely to go furthest in the series but Kandy Rain are surely the favourites to be first out?
