WAG Alex Curran brands fashion label Balmain's prices 'ridiculous'...so why did she spend £27,000 on just three outfits?

With a footballer husband's salary and endless time to shop, being a WAG sounds like a fashionista's dream come true.
But as Steven Gerrard's wife Alex Curran has revealed in this month's Vogue, winning respect from London's style makers has been more difficult than anyone could have imagined.
Her desire to blend in with the hip Dalston set might at least explain her decision to spend £27,000 on fashion-forward French label Balmain - despite having branded its prices 'absolutely ridiculous.

By contrast, the WAG has also claimed that high street chain Topshop is 'one of her favourite shops in the whole world'. But judging by her recent outfit choices, Balmain may have jumped to the top of her list.
Alex, in the throws of a style makeover, has been going to great lengths to expand her fashion horizons in the run up to the World Cup.
In December, the 27-year-old dazzled in a £2,340 blue blouse with crystal bow, £4,705 quilted leather skirt and £1,160 buckle-embellished suede boots at the Liverpool Style Awards.
She was also pictured sporting similar pieces later that week and earlier this month.
But Alex told Vogue Balmain's prices were 'absolutely ridiculous' and claims most of her shopping is done on discount websites The Outnet and Bunny Hug.
