Celebrity Cancer Survivors..... These stars overcame the odds, beating cancer and becoming voices for finding a cure

Kylie Minogue International pop star  battled and won against breast cancer, after being diagnosed in 2005. She released a single, "Over the Rainbow," while undergoing treatment, and celebrated five years of remission in 2010

Scott Hamilton Figure skating legend was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2003, and founded Chemocare.com after beating it, to help other cancer patients through the process. "Quality of life is key when undergoing chemo," Hamilton said. "The more things that help get you through chemotherapy the better, because it affects everyone differently."

Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with Stage III testicular cancer in 1996, at the age of 25. After undergoing immediate surgery and rounds of chemotherapy, Armstrong eventually recovered, winning a world-record seven Tour de France victories afterward and starting the Livestrong charity.

Fran Drescher was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2000, but was recovered after undergoing successful surgery to remove the mass. She gave back in 2007, founding the Cancer Schmancer Movement, which promote women's healthcare and cancer screening

Jane Fonda discovered a small lump in her breast in late 2010, and underwent a small, non-invasive surgery to remove the tumor. She assured fans that she's now doing "fine." 

Melissa Etheridge When cancer survivor beat her breast cancer in 2005 after a long, hard struggle, she wrote a song about it, "I Run for Life," with the chorus of: "I run for your mother, your sister, your wife / I run for you and me, my friend / I run for life."

 Sheryl Crow announced in 2006 she was undergoing "minimally invasive surgery for breast cancer." The singer beat the disease, and says it's one of her proudest moments. "We talk about defining moments," said Crow, "but I think nothing can define you. They're all refining moments. You're constantly refining yourself and refining your life."

Christina Applegate When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, made the decision to have a double masectomy. But the funnylady looked on the bright side. "I'm going to have cute boobs until I'm 90, so there's that," joked Applegate

 Maura Tierney was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, and underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her breast. While she was forced to leave the show Parenthood to undergo treatment, by 2010 she was back to work, joining the CBS show The Whole Truth.

Sharon Osbourne was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002, and quicky began treatment. After beating the disease in 2003, she founded the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA, dedicated to helping others overcome cancer as well.  

Suzanne Somers announced in 2001 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. After beating the disease, she's become a proponent of alternative treatments while urging women to seek regular cancer screenings

 Cynthia Nixon Sex and the City star was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. She now works as an ambassador for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an NYC cancer charity. "I want to help Susan G. Komen for the Cure educate the 1.1 million women around the globe who face a diagnosis each year," she said.

 Olivia Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. After recovering, she's worked with several breast cancer charities, including helping to raise funds for a cancer support center in her native Melbourne, Australia

Michael C. Hall announced in January of 2010 that he was undergoing treatment for Hodgking's lymphoma, and accepted his Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award in 2010 while wearing a knitted cap after losing his hair to chemo. He announced in mid-2010 that he was now "fully recovered 

Robert De Niro was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003. He underwent surgery at New York’s Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and later made a full recovery
