Christian Dior Cruise collection 2011

Dior made its runway debut in Shanghai this season with a sixties inspiried Cruise collection. In the front row were house muses Charlize Theron and Marion Cotillard who joined 500 guests in a Dior gray tent constructed along the Bund.

John Galliano presented a candy coloured feminine collection that included Jean Seberg marine stripes, mini dresses, lots of bows, trenches, fedoras and cropped pants. House trademarks like the rose were everywhere from prints  to choker necklaces and lady like handbags accompanied almost every look. One of my favourite looks was the Bardot-esque pale-blue gingham dress in organza and the feather light leather dress in shocking pink worn by Karlie Kloss for the opening number. On the couture front, it was trademark Galliano romance: corseted lace dresses and grand ball gowns including a candy-pink organza show stopper.
